FM Global Appoints Leading U.S. Cyber Defense Experts to its Dedicated Cyber Hazards Unit

JOHNSTON, R.I., USA—What do these three individuals have in common?

  • A former cyber security director for the United States Department of Defense.

  • The former Director of Operations for the 102nd Network Warfare Squadron, Air National Guard, responsible for defensive cyber operations.

  • A former cyber security leader for two of the world’s leading management consultancies.

Each of them has joined commercial and industrial property insurer FM Global’s cyber hazards team.

John P. Morrow, Wade M. Chmielinski and Randolph P. Schmidt have been appointed as assistant vice presidents, cyber security consultants at FM Global. They are responsible for helping clients better assess and mitigate property-related cyber risk.

Morrow, who most recently worked for the U.S. Department of Defense, brings more than 25 years of experience in information technology to the organization’s expanded team. He holds a bachelor’s degree in information systems and technology and an MBA from Amberton University. Morrow is a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) and holds Security+CE and IAM/IAT Level II Department of Defense security certifications. 

Chmielinski, a seasoned information security professional within military and civilian sectors, holds an associate’s degree in information management from the Community College of the Air Force and a bachelor’s degree in history from Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts. He is a CISSP, Global Certified Incident Handler (GCIH) and a graduate of the USAF Intermediate Network Warfare Training School.

Schmidt previously worked for PwC and Accenture on cyber security-focused projects and assessments for Fortune 500 clients. He holds an undergraduate business degree from the University of Notre Dame, a bachelor’s degree in telecommunications systems management and an MBA from Goizueta (Emory) Business School. Schmidt is a CISSP, a Certified Information Security Manager (CISM) and a Certified Cloud Security Professional (CCSP).

Leading the team is Jeff Tilley, recently appointed vice president and manager of cyber hazards. He succeeds Carmelina Borsellino, who has been appointed vice president, chief engineer. Tilley has been with FM Global for more than 15 years and has served in a variety of loss prevention engineering roles.
