JOHNSTON, R.I., USA—FM Global, one of the world’s largest business property insurers, has made key changes to its management team, as it moves seasoned leaders within the company into new roles.
Chris Johnson, senior vice president, division manager, Asia/Pacific, has become senior vice president, division manager, EMEA, and will be based in FM Global’s Windsor, U.K., office. He succeeds Kenneth Davey, who retired after 40 years with FM Global. Johnson will oversee all client relations, underwriting, engineering, processing and administration for the division. Johnson has served the company in numerous roles, including senior vice president–marketing and enterprise learning, senior vice president and manager of FM Global’s Western U.S. division, and as vice president of international operations. Prior to that, he was manager of South America operations and, before that, engineering group manager for FM Global in London, U.K. He began his career in 1979 as a loss prevention engineer in the company’s London office. Johnson received a bachelor’s degree in mineral processing from the University of Leeds, U.K.
Stefano Tranquillo, vice president and manager of Northern Europe operations, has been promoted to senior vice president, division manager, Asia/Pacific. Tranquillo will be based in Singapore to help the company grow its business in the region and be better positioned to respond to client needs. His tenure with the company has included posts in Brazil, Italy and the U.K. Since joining FM Global in 1984 as a loss prevention engineer, Tranquillo has worked in numerous roles, including engineering, underwriting and management. Tranquillo received a bachelor of science degree in mechanical engineering at Imperial College in London, U.K., and holds the Associate of City and Guilds of London Institute (ACGI) certification.
Philip Johnson, operations vice president, business process improvement and client service manager, has been named vice president and manager, Northern Europe operations. Johnson will oversee the delivery of products and services for business in the U.K., Nordic countries, the Netherlands, the Middle East and South Africa. He will be based in the company’s Windsor, U.K., office. Prior to his appointment, Johnson managed FM Global’s client service delivery for Northern Europe operations and was responsible for ensuring the profit and growth of business written in the region. Johnson joined FM Global in 1995 as a loss prevention engineer. He is a graduate of the University of Newcastle upon Tyne and received a bachelor’s degree with honors in civil engineering.
