FM Global receives ‘BEST Award’ from the Association for Talent Development

Award Recognizes Insurer’s Organizational Commitment to Client and Employee Learning

JOHNSTON, R.I., USA—Commercial and industrial property insurer FM Global has been ranked internationally for its enterprise-wide client and employee learning and development program. The mutual insurer was recognized this month at the Association for Talent Development (ATD) 2014 BEST Awards, the talent development industry’s most rigorous and coveted recognition.

“Because engineering expertise is the most critical discipline at FM Global, it is a top priority to develop learning solutions around specific risk improvement topics,” according to the ATD. “The learning team's success is based on its ability to educate clients about property risk reduction and loss prevention through direct training and client service team interactions.”

Selection was based on quantitative and qualitative information that organizations submitted to the ATD about their learning and talent development practices and programs. Applications were assessed in a blind review by members of the BEST Awards advisory committee, a select group of experts in the field.

The BEST Award is the second honor received by FM Global this year for its commitment to enterprise-wide learning and development. In March, the insurer received a 2014 Innovation Award for its SimZone, a distinct 12,000-square-foot hands-on training facility that simulates property hazards located at FM Global’s Center for Property Risk Solutions in Norwood, Mass., USA.

Established in 1835, FM Global is a mutual insurance company whose capital, scientific research capability and engineering expertise are solely dedicated to property risk management and the resilience of its client-owners. These owners, who share the belief that the majority of property loss is preventable, represent many of the world’s largest organizations, including one of every three FORTUNE 500 companies. They work with FM Global to better understand the hazards that can affect their business continuity in order to make cost-effective risk management decisions combining property loss prevention with insurance protection. FM Global is rated A+ (Superior) by A.M. Best and AA (Very Strong) by Fitch.
