JOHNSTON, R.I. USA—Following recent tragedies in the U.S., stemming from racial and other social injustice and whose impact is being felt globally, FM Global, one of the world’s largest commercial property insurers, is donating US$500,000 to the Equal Justice Initiative, a nonprofit human rights advocacy organization.

Additionally, the company will double-match all personal contributions made by FM Global employees and retirees around the world who support inclusion and equality causes.

“Although money doesn’t solve all problems, FM Global will invest in solutions that require funding to make our communities better places for all,” said Thomas A. Lawson, FM Global chairman and CEO. “We also know that in order to create change we must look inward and reexamine our own views and actions. We have been following a roadmap to begin hardwiring inclusion, diversity and equity into everything we do. It will be a long journey and we are prepared to stay the course for as long as it takes.”
