JOHNSTON, R.I., USA—FM Global, one of the world’s largest commercial and industrial property insurers, has been named to “America's Best Employers for Diversity” list by Forbes. The mutual insurer is ranked number 221 out of 250 companies.
According to Forbes, “One study after another has shown that companies with more diverse teams have stronger financial performance. But without being an employee, it’s often difficult to get visibility into how seriously a company takes diversity.”
To gain those insights, 30,000 employees working for large U.S. companies and organizations were surveyed by Forbes. Respondents were asked about diversity, gender, ethnicity, sexual orientation, age and disability. Responses from ethnic minorities, women and people aged 50 and older received greater weight.

This is the third time since 2016 that FM Global has been recognized by Forbes for its employment practices. In May 2017, Forbes ranked FM Global number 112 among “America’s Best Employers,” a climb of 163 places from the prior year’s ranking.
